I have spent the last two days preparing this vehicle for the dyno and I shared my initial thoughts on them the other day: [ http://twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=1560249 ] Well, I wasn't far off from my predictions. The vehicle produced 439RWHP and 438RWTQ at 17.5psi of boost. A/F was a conservative 11:1 and ignition timing just as conservative. C16 race fuel was added and the boost was inched up, however, we were only capable of producing about 21.5psi of maximum boost pressure due to the actuators. Unfortunately the way the passenger actuator was installed did not give enough room to disconnect the actuator rod and shorten it in order to increase the boost pressure. The driver's actuator was snugged up a bit as it was pretty loose from when they were initially installed. Despite this, the car still produced 481RWHP at 470RWTQ with a conservative 11:1 A/F ratio at this boost pressure. Here is the dynochart for review:
These turbos are quite impressive. They spool up very quickly and reach their peak torque around 4600RPM. This isn't much different than stock turbos and the car is a joy to drive. There is still a bit more in them as this dynochart is at 21.5psi and they can produce 23psi of boost, based on the compressor map (2.6 p.r. = 23psi). I also left the A/F rather conservative considering it is a stock internal engine and the timing on race fuel was only bumped up 3 degrees to 21 degrees total advancement. We were pressed for time on the dyno as the owner had a family event to attend and we only got this one dynochart printed out. I will gather up the rest of the charts in a few days and post them with all of my notes showing the power, boost, A/F, torque, etc etc. There were a total of 13 pulls made; made within about 50 minutes of time on the rollers. I appreciate this opportunity and hope you are happy with the end result. Thanks for the hospitality you and your family have provided during my stay here. Minnesota has some of the most beautiful countryside I have ever seen before and perhaps some time down the road I will make my way back up here. So, thanks again for everything and enjoy the ride!
